With over 25 years of experience in integrated wildland fire management, nonprofit leadership, and strategic communications, Bethany Hannah began her career on-the-ground as a Hotshot firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. She most recently served as Deputy Director of Operations and Interim Executive Director at the Climate and Wildfire Institute and is also the founder of AWE (Wildfire International), a nonprofit dedicated to building global wildfire capacity through international training, local empowerment, and transformative leadership development.
A sought-after consultant, strategist, and community engagement expert, Bethany is known for her compassionate yet decisive leadership and her unwavering commitment to empowering the wildland fire community. Her work spans sectors and continents, reflecting both her versatility and her dedication to solving the complex challenges of modern wildfire.
